Whilst original period furniture were made out of solid mahogany or yew, modern production practices are using a veneer technique. Not only this technique is more eco frienly as using less wood, it is also more stable and less inclined to split or wrap over time.

This consists in making a complete structure in plain wood which is then carefully layered with mahogany, cherry, yew or oak veneer to match Victorian or Edwardian interiors.

This technique allows a greater level of flexibility in the making of furniture without compromising its feel and quality. It allows to match not only the style and sizes, but also the tone of colour by using various finishing techniques.
